GLUTATHIONE AND SLEEP

Beauty rest, anyone? When you sleep, *you're* out cold, but your brain is a busy busy bee. That first one, Brain Drain? He's referring to the glymphatic system, managed by glial cells. Glial cells and the neurons they protect rely heavily on glutathione not only for defense against excess reactive oxygen species, but also as the "soap" that binds to molecules that the brain wants to wash away. No wonder then, given this waste management system, that many people who boost their cells' ability to produce glutathione report better sleep- they sleep soundly, and some recall more vivid dreams.

Glutathione, the master antioxidant, is critical for the health of the eyes: it protects against chemical and oxidative stress, to which portions of the eye are particularly vulnerable. Maintaining adequate levels of glutathione in the lens nucleus is critical for protection from the effects of oxidative stress and also for lens transparency. In fact, research shows that where age-related cataracts are concerned, the harder the lens nucleus the less glutathione present. Glutathione also plays an important role in hydration.

GLUTATHIONE AND AUTISM

Epigenetics has taught us that there is a special interplay between our DNA and our environment. Whereas analyzing DNA is relatively easy, pinpointing environmental factors is a challenge. One thing to bear in mind is that cells possess machinery intended to protect against harmful environmental factors, but in autism, it has been observed that this machinery may not be working optimally. GSH is significantly decreased in the brains of subjects with autism.

Infertility is defined as 1 year of unprotected intercourse without pregnancy.

Classified as primary or secondary infertility

FECUNDABILITY; probability of achieving pregnancy within a single menstrual cycle

FECUNDITY: probability of achieving a life birth within a single menstrual cycle

FECUNDABILITY  of normal couple is estimated at 20 – 25%

Time of evaluation of infertility is after 1 year

Exceptions are;

1.women above 35 years

GLUTATHIONE – THE ANSWER TO UNEXPLAINABLE INFERTILITY

According to the Advanced Fertility Center of Chicago, unexplained infertility is an infertility case in which the standard infertility testing has not found a cause for the failure of a woman to get pregnant. Unexplained infertility is also referred to as idiopathic infertility. Another way to explain it is the "doctors can't figure it out" group.

Although there is yet to be a universally accepted definition among medical experts of what "standard testing" consists but medical studies have reported that about 26% of infertile couples have unexplained infertility.
